laptop and desktop

ok heres the lowdown i have a laptop and a desktop and i have dsl service but what i want to know is that if they can both share the internet connection because i tried to use the internet connection on my friends laptop but it didnt work so i guess its something with the ip address assigned to me? and also do i need a router for this?


any help would be greatly appreciated or even a link to another thread of anyone who has a similar problem to this and theres a solution..

well yea you need a router in order for the wireless internet work for the labtop, and it will work. just get a router and connect them both to it and then BOOM you got internet on both .
