I have had problems with lightwave switch giving out APIPA addresses to hosts on the network.When connected directly to the router I get a valid IP address whats the problem would this be overheating of the switch?

A Network icon indicator disables itself after some time whats the problem

First update firmware and nic drivers.

What happens when you set static ips?
