to have Gigabit Ethernet between the 2 PC's you will need the following....
At LEAST 1 Gigabit Ethernet card on EACH PC
Category 5e ethernet cables (Cat 5 is only rated for 10/100)
If your Category 5e cable is a straight-through cable, you will need a crossover for the PC's to be connected DIRECTLY TO EACHOTHER.....
If you are going to do this through a switch or router, that device HAS to be rated for Gigabit ethernet also...
