Early days of P2P, was one of the only options (Kazaa, Napster, etc.). Then LimeWire spawned up as well.

Kazaa and Limewire got me through looots of music acquisition difficulties. One of the first times I was able to see music videos by underground bands I'd listened to at that time as well. MTV was no help, and I didn't have cable anyway.

Kazaa was one of the only choices in the early days. Kazaa was shut down as a p2p program. Then moved to an online subscription service. Does anyone know when it shutdown. I read 2006?
