itunes sharing music...

im in a dorm. I have a router just because there is only one eithernet port in here and me and my roomate both need internet access. I noticed that when I was plugged into the eithernet jack directly, i could view the shared music in Itunes that people had who also lived here. through the router, I cannot. we dont have anything configured on it. how can I configure it to make it so I can view shared music in iTunes again?

i dont see how thats a problem, i'd love to get free music! I dont know about ITunes, but maybe you could set up the computer to not use a shared folder (shared documents) and unshare the folder.

why dont you just install a router or a firewall?

never mind it was an issue of lan and wan(?) it was trying to go over the intranet of the router, and not the whole school. anyway, its fixed now.
