I use a VPN to log into my work network and I use RDC to control my computer there.

Sometimes my remote computer logs me off (perhaps restarting/rebooting) when the VPN is disconnected. It goes in waves (happened once Friday afternoon, once Sunday night/monday morning, and again last night), but does not happen every time. Sometimes it doesn't happen for weeks. It doesn't happen immediately upon VPN disconnect.

There is no 'your computer was restarted to install important updates' message.

According to the event viewer it is a 'user initiated logoff', and exactly 30 minutes before each unwanted logoff I get print warnings in my event viewer about the local printers being purged and deleted.

(Intentional restarts the print warning happen at the same time as the 'user initiated logoff')

Any ideas?

i would make sure that it dosn't have any malware on it first.

do the loggs give any info about what user initiated the logoff.

is the pc part of a domain, and are there any policys that could be causing this ?

is there anyone on site( at work) when this happens, could someone else be tring to use the same pc ?
