My friend has asked me for advice on the best ISP to use.

We live in the UK and she has previously been on AOL and has had multiple problems with it.

She would like to connect to the telephone line, then to the computer by USB.

Anyone got any ideas as to the best service provider to use, and what type of modem she would need?

DON'T use any united online services (Juno, Netzero, etc.). I have had nothing but bad luck with them. I would try Earthlink.

Get broadband with no cap.

Local broadband w/o their own seperate software is the way to go.

Up here, Sympatico (Bell Canada) is the way to go, even though I am biased towards them.
