Or on Windows 2000/Xp start -> run -> cmd
Type in ipconfig, and under your internet connection it will tell you your IP adress (your IP isnt your subnet mask or default gateway)

to clarify, http://myipaddress.com is your external or public IP and is most like'y being shared by all computers on your network. you likely one have 1 external IP. its used to get yourself onto a WAN like the internet

ipconfig shows your internal IP. nobody will have the same internal IP, but all computers on the same local network can have the same external IP. you can a have a billion people with the same internal IP.

if you are using some program for the internet what you want is the external IP. if you are setting up port forwarding you need your internal IP.

why my IP is always the same?

EDITED By Martin - Never publicly display your IP address

Kopenhagen,

Be careful when you post your IP address, it is all that a person with malicious intent would need to start a series of attacks against your computers network at home.

There are two basic types of IP address issued by ISP's.
Static and Dynamic.

If you have a static IP address, it will NEVER change and you will probably pay much more for it than your typical Dynamic (Can change whenever) IP address.

Most of the time you want a Static IP address when you are hosting websites or other web based applications (FTP, SMTP etc.)

There are services out there to help you publish a website if you have a dynamic IP address but you might have to pay for that service.

Again, NEVER GIVE AWAY YOUR ISP ASSIGNED ADDRESS.....
