Okay so here is the deal...my company assigns each computer with an IP address, and to filter what groups can go to on the web we filter by IP address...well over time from switching computers and putting new hardware in our record of whos IP address is whos has gotten all out of sorts. What i would like is a net scanner that can keep track of IP address. Just needs to show the computer name/device name the rest we can fill in. I know there is net scanner but it doesn't show a whole lot of info, it just pings i would like something that is my dynamic? any ideas??

I'd setup a dhcp server. Nice and simple. Have it distribute a range of IP addresses with no web access, and create static maps for the PCs you want access for (which means they'll always get the same IP via dhcp, whatever you want that IP to be is up to you).
