Invalid ip need help

Ok so here is the problem I am trying to connect to the Internet through a connection I know works as I am on it on my iPod right now but I am connected to it but it says there is no Internet access which I know is not true and so I tried to release and renew my ip which is right now a 169 number. It said media disconnected so it couldn't renew. I have tried resetting everything and disabling and enabling networks and also uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless card. I do not know what to do from here and I can not find anything else anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Are you using WPA/WPA2?

In IPConfig, do you have a gateway? A IP number that it matches your router?

Wpa2. And no gateway

That is your problem. You are not connecting to the router.

Yea I guess cause now I can connect on another network. I still dnt understand the problem cause all the other computers worked fine on it.
