Internet Shut down. Dont know why?

Hey all I have internet problems again. My internet is shutdown. I am on my sisters laptop and she is using linksys.

So On my when I got home my mom said the internet is down so I tried using my computer and the internet wasnt working. I tried restarting the routers which is on my down stairs computer but that didnt work. I lost internet on all of my computers except my sisters who is using linksys. My mom says she is going to contact Verizion, My internet provide, and have them ask what the matter is.

But, I want to see if I can fix it myself.
Also, On my upstairs computer it says i have a 54 mbps connection but when I try to sign into AIM or go on firefox it doesnt work
Does anyone know what I should do?

I need answers fast because my sister doesnt like me using her laptop.

Try re-setting the router (not just re-starting it). There should be a reset button on the router, itself. Worth trying first since it is fast and easy.

Hey thanks how long would it tkae for teh router to reset and would it mess up my computers at all like delete documents or anything?
