Internet router issue

i just got a Gateway something... router
its not wireless just eithernet for 4 computers
iv connected the internet to it and it gets response in the led light but when it comes to connecting it to my computer it searches for a connection and then it shows a yellow pop up saying no connectivity. i tried reseting my modem and router couple times already and nothing same **** pops up
i ran network wizard for home networking and nothing

any ideas?

im moving now so its packed up, wont be pulling it out for a while till i move in

BTW im just trying to connect my desktop computer , my laptop , and maybe my backup system as well (also desktop)

Exact model of router?
Type of internet you have? Cable? DSL? If DSL, PPPoE required? (as in username and password to login to the internet?)

Are you using straight through cables to connect to the router?

probably you need to enable dhcp on your router.. Exactly you need to tell what "LORITHAD" has asked you..
