Hi guys,

I've got 2 pcs networked through a wireless router at home. the internet has been working fine until last night. Both of my pcs couldn't get on the internet, it said " limited connectivity ".

I resetted the internet modem but it still didn't work:(....
When I tried to connect my pc direct to the modem, it seemed to be working fine. As soon as I plugged the cables through the router, it wouldn't allowed to go on the internet.....WHY:(..

My guess is that your router's firewall is blocking certain types of connections.

What type of router is it?

What's the model?

Your computer is set to obtain an IP address automatically, so the DHCP server on the D-Link as to be enable. You could reset it, should be a button on the router.

i did reset it but it didn't work although there were ip addresses shown on ipconfig command

What is the model of the D-Link...

so the IP address shows, but can you ping the default gateway?

Did you get a DNS address also?

That's weird then...if you had the error message "Limited or no connectivity" that usually indicates no DHCP server was found.

You'll probably get an IP address something in the range of 169.254.xxx.xxx / 255.255.0.0 ?

Can you ping 216.239.37.99 and 209.73.186.238 ?

Then ping www.google.com or www.yahoo.com?

sorry i'm in uk so my ip add will different from yours.
Mines started with 192.168.xxx.xxx.
