internet problem pls help....

pls help me to solve my problem....

first i format my pc to be clean and no errors then my internet connection is good at 1st then suddenly my internet cannot connect to the internet i don't know why...

when i choose system restore to my computer my internet(LAN DSL) can connect but when i undo my last restoration i can't connect again pls help me by the way my internet connection is LAN DSL thx pls help me ASAP....

Can you confirm wether or not your computer is getting an IP address from the Router? (I can only assume there is a router or some such device if you are on a LAN.)

If you are getting an IP Adress, is it 169.254.x.x, or something else? Also, are you able to ping the gateway??
