I don't think the software will make a difference, you most likely have a problem with your router. You can confirm this by connecting directly to your cable modem. After that's confirm and your positive that it doesn't disconnect while directly connected to the modem you can try and update your router's firmware.
If the firmware update doesn't help, buy another brand other than Belkin.
