Hello all,

I am having a little trouble determining which Intel network adapter is better. They are both quad port fiber adapters and they're pretty much the same price.

Intel PRO/1000 PT
INTEL PRO/1000PT 4PORT 10/100/1000BTX GBE PCIE LOW PROFILE QUAD NIC : Networking: Enterprise Class | Dell
Two Intel 82571 Gigabit Ethernet controllers
PCI Express 1.0a
1 Gbps transfer rate

Intel Gigabit ET
Intel Gigabit ET Quad-Port Server Adapter | Dell | Dell
Intel 82576 Gigabit Ethernet controller
PCI Express 2.0
(2.5 GT/s)

Your help is greatly appreciated!!!

***** EDIT ****

Okay, both cards are 2.5 GT/s. As a marketing ploy, everything PCIe 2.0 was labelled 2.5 GT/s, eventhough older versions of PCIe were also 2.5 GT/s.

The cause of my confusion is that the Gigabit ET card seems to be a much much better card, but it made no sense why the price is in the same ballpark as the PRO/1000 PT. I ended up calling Intel. They confirmed that the Gigabit ET card is a much better card and is the same price range because Intel sells them at such a high volume, they're able to mass produce it at a cheaper price.

i whould go with the Intel Gigabit ET i meean there both good ether ine will do
