Im truely lost

after building my first comp i hooked it up to the second comp through a router and after i did that my internet went to complete crap adn i was downloading at 5kb/s ive tried running spyware programs virus searches i just don't know whats wrong

what is your internet connection speed?
are you connecting thru dial-up or broadband?
did you swap cables and see if the cables faulty?

So your topology is 2nd computer connected to the 1st computer which is connected to the router? Why can't you have all the computer just connect to the router instead or is it because you only have 1 port on the router/modem?
