I could use some suggestions.
Computer room
I have a Motorola Surfboard Modem with wireless gateway in one room connected to a desktop via ethernet.
Living room
Another ethernet cable is running from the Motorola surfboard to the living room. That cable goes between the Xbox, Playstation , Blu-Ray, DirectV DVR, etc., depending on which one I'm using. I have two laptop connected wireless.
Bedroom
DirecTV Box needs an internet connection
#1. I want to have everything in the bedroom and living room that needs internet to be connected without wires running from room to room
#2, I want to be able to network three PC's, one desktop and two laptops.
#3. Have all three PC's share the same external hardrive.
#4. Have all three PCs share the same the same printer.
I have been looking at Netgear Powerline products and can see this taking care of #1, but I want to know if it can be done cheaper. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
