i have a hub and when i plug pc's into it the lighs come on but when i go to plug in a cable that is coming from a wall jack it doesnt work but i know the wall jack works casue i had my pc pluged into it and it work
so simply saying
i can plug pc's into my hub but no internet access

anyone know what is wrong here

You probably are only set up for one IP address and they are conflicting with one another. Cable companies (assuming thatÂ’s what you are using) often only allow only one IP address youÂ’ll need to get a router and then you can put both computers on the internet.

Correct.....if it's setup that way.
How is your local network configured? If the connection to your cable modem is coming to the wall jack then you should get a small gateway/router

If your router has DHCP:

Click Start, run, then type CMD

Now type, ipconfig /all, check the port is connected and it should say if its working.

Now type..... ipconfig /release

Now

ipconfig /renew
