How to Limit bandwidth for certain PCs in a network??

Hi...

At my organization we have 4mbps speed connection but we are getting 2mbps speed only(checked with speed test) But my service provider said the speed test site is not the correct one to check.. He proved with a graph of our organization's usage that, 4.5mbps downloading speed is utilized by us... He further told to check whether someone is chocking the network..


So we decided to limit the bandwidth for everyone except few... Please do help.

QoS on the router or high end switch would do this.

You could also use a 3rd party tool like Riverbed Cascade Profiler that creates statistics on network usage. Network monitor would do the same thing but it doesn't monitor mutiple subnets, just monitors the subnet it is on.
