Good Morning,

I have 2 computers, one is Win98 and the other is Win2000. I was able to have internet access for both computers. My Win98 can see the shared folder of the Win2000 but can't access it because it is password locked. My Win2000 can't see the Win98 at all.

Both have TCP/IP enabled on them with dynamic IP address. I do have a firewall setup through the Linksys router with all the ports closed.

My questions are:
1. How can I get both computer to see each other and access each other files?

2. how can I unlock the shared folder? (When I made the folder shared, I dont remember entering any password)

Thank you,

RedEight ...

Ok, you can doublecheck to see what the permissions are on that share by right clicking the folder, and clicking on "sharing." If you have it shared, you will see the share name that you chose for that specific folder. You will also see a command button labeled permissions, click on it and you will see who has access to that share.

What I would do is add the 'users' group from the windows98 computer in there so you won't be asked for a password.

Good Luck, let us know how things go.
