Did you install the VNC server on the computer that you wanted to connect to?
You should have something similar to this screen shot, notice the IP address on the bottom right, you can get the IP address of the VNC server from there. Then just double click on the VNC tray icon and you'll be prompted with the setup box.

Make sure you enter a password that is at least 8 character or longer, and take note of the default port for http which is 5800.
Now on the client side you just open up your favorite web browser and enter the IP address follow by a colon then the port 5800. In my example I put 192.168.2.9:5800 and you should see this similar page.

Just enter your password that you created and you'll have access through java and can remotely control the VNC server.
