2nd router

1st internet interface
LAN IP: 172.18.1.5

2nd LAN Interface
LAN IP: 192.168.1.1
subnet: 255.255.0.0
Gateway: 172.18.1.5

This config is winding me up, do I need to set up routing table for this or it should work just fine ? Thanks. pls help

Question 1: why do you have the subnet set to 255.255.0.0? That's a pretty big subnet, I doubt you'll be using all those addresses.

Question 2: Please explain exactly what you're trying to accomplish. Please be as detailed as possible :)

If you have two subnets setup on a router they will be able to communicate with eachother, no further setup needed. To get internet connectivity you'll have to setup static routes on the routers. But post back first and let me know what you're trying to do first so I can help you better.

Hrm. I agree with SOUL, some more information on your exact goal is needed.

One thing to SOUL though, it doesn't really matter that he use such a large subnet. After all, its a private address anyway.
