How do i completely mask my IP?

Thread title pretty much says it all.

Either by 3rd party program or options in windows.

And no i'm not a hacker, i just don't want people knowing where i live.

Can not be done.

Only by going thru a Proxy can you somewhat hide it. But overall that can be traced back. Any good person would be able to find out your city easily. Since that is all that you can get with a IP tace. Can not get a real address without a warrent and subpeona to your ISP.

Tor does this. It's a free proxy service, and performance can be slow and spotty, but it works. I recently read a review of anonymous surfing products, and there are actually a few available (none of them were free).

I suppose anything can be hacked, but these types of applications definitely provide a layer of anonymity and protection.
