how can I share my laptop?

There are two computers in my house; a PC and my laptop. They are connected to each via a wireless hub/router/whatever.

I can never seem to be able to share the Shared Documents folder on my laptop. No matter what I do, it seems that noone can access my laptop via the network which is making life a little difficult.

If you are running windows, then you should run the network share wizard which is not hard to find (im not sure if its called this, but there is a wizard in windows to share your files). Or, if you have problems you can create a network disk which you use on PCs, i have used this before and it worked fine. I only used this because of problems because there was PCs with different OSes which had problems finding eachother. If you havent done so, then click on a folder, right click and and choose "sharing and security" (there is something like this in the menu) and just share the folder.

In linux, just set up samba.
