high ping

me and my roomate have been playing Counter Strike for about a month now on the same router/ cable connection... up until a week agao we were pinging 25-45 in out server now all of a sudden when ever were in the same server or online in different servers we ping for 450- 1400 does anyone know what the problem can be.. everyonce in a while itll be fine but it skyrockets without notice... thanx for the help

What provider and router do you have.

Do stuff in this order

Type net_graph 3 into CSS \ CS and see what your choke \ loss are at and post.

Remeber your router settings, and give it a good reset.

Reset modem

Whine to ISP

ahhh well changed my cmdupdaterate and another rate in my console and it fixed it... the rates were a little too high ... thanx for the help
