Help - remote 3g connection!

I have multiple embedded XP PCs in remote locations each with 3g dongle thingys for internet connection.

I need to connect to these via a PC (connected directly to the internet).

I need:
1. remote control
2. file transfer.

Any software needs to be open source.

Anyone any ideas?

If it has to be 3rd party software... tried UltraVNC or TinyVNC?

So, are these computers connected to the internet full time? Do you need to connect to them all at the same time?

I would setup a VPN connection to each one and then password each computer and setup remote desk top.

I use this setup and works great for me.

Teamviewer always get the job done for me. At home I use ssh / scp (90% of my transfers are to my linux servers)

I tried Teamviewer and it works great, but could do with a set up which is free for commercial use?

Started trying tincVPN but crashed a PC so i'll give UltraVNC a go. Will update when tried.
