*help* networking XP and SuSe

Hey peeps,

i'm *trying* to set up a connection to my linux box from my XP machine so i can acess the internet on my Linux box. so any ideas please.. i've tried briefly but i wasn't really getting anywhere fast.

SuSe 9.1
Windows XP Pro

The SuSE samba client (which lets you connect to Windows boxes) is the absolute worse setup I've ever seen.

It's workable, but if you don't have much patience, you won't get anywhere.

Have you tried turning on the Windows Network Sharing, and allow other computers to connect. Then set your Linux box networkÂ’s gateway to the XPÂ’s IP

I'm sure there are proxy programs out there, look on Sourceforge, but if you want the most secure browsing, then set up a VNC (Virtual Network Console I think) server on your linux box (provided it is reasonably capable) and get a client for your windows box and browse like that. Considerbaly less flexible than a proxy, but perhpas a little more secure.
