I am having a setup with loopback connection to port 1(transmit port) and port 2 (received port )of IXIA(traffic generator). Using TCL interface, I am sending packet streams for 3 sec and monitoring the pakcet count and transmit duration in IXe Explorer (Ixia Client). In this instance, Ixia should transmit for round trip time of 2x sec which is 2 * 3 = 6 sec. The problem here is IXIA does not transmit exactly for 6 sec , it sends the packets > or < 6 sec and transmit duration in IXIA is not consistent. it varies each time the packet streams are sent for any specified time duration . Morever, I am not able to etxract the value of transmit duration from IXIA using the TCL interface.
I require feedback on the following:
1. How to make the transmit duration in Ixia consistent
2. What is the Ixia specific TCL command to extract the value of transmit duration from the Ixe explorer.
