Hello, Im running a computer that has software installed to backup two computers. One of the computers; mine has a 10/100/1000 NIC card installed and the Downstairs computer has a 10/100 NIC installed.. Both computers run to a 10/100 Network Switch... Would it be beneficial for me to add a 10/100/1000 NIC Card to the Downstairs computer and buy a Gigabyte Network Switch to speed the backing up process between the computers? My router is a Netgear Wireless N so that is also equiped with the 10/100/1000 Network Speeds.. Let me know if this would make the backup time faster and network speeds.

Thanks!

I will second Dlink, I have a 5 port Gigabit Switch from D-Link for about $30 from newegg.com, and it works great along with D-Link Gigabit nics. The only downside is if the NIC is a PCI nic, as PCI won't hurt much, but it also, wouldn't help much, now if you get a PCIe nic for a PCIe slot, then you would be good to go IMO.
