i just upgraded to a new server with server 2003 OS from an old NT server. one of my client's is WIN95. unfortunately i can't upgrade the OS, it's a laser machine with proprietary software. it talked to the NT server no problem. for some reason i can't get it to talk to the 2003. it can see the domain but can't map any drives. i've tried all the standard network stuff. anybody out there know something like maybe i need new drivers or something?

thx in advance

That is because the drives on the 2003 machine are NTFS. Win95 cant see or work with NTFS drives. They must be Fat32.

Actually that's not true Mak. Over a network a 95 machine can see and access Ntfs shares. When computers talk over a network, the computer hosting the share does all of it's own reading and writing. So a 95 machine, for example, will send a packet to a 2003 server. The server reads the packet and then writes it to it's own drive. 95 just can't locally read ntfs partitions

@sprokket - can you be specific with what you've tried?
