General Failure on ping

When I open a software, I just can't online. When I ping on my default gateway, it say General failure. Why is it happening ? How to settle it ?

Provide a little more detail, like what type of router are you using. Is it connected with a wire or through wireless? What type of Internet do you have and who's your provider? What operating system do you have running? Did you try pinging the loopback address 127.0.0.1 with any reply?

but it only happen to me when i start run the program. My friend which is on the same network with me didnt have this kind of problem.

What is the software that is causing you this problem. You still need to answer the above questions that I asked else I wouldn't have much information to help you.

I'm connected to wired. Broadband one. Using Win XP Pro SP1. The software is chinese software call netsense from grabsun.
