I have 2 computers (soon to be 3) that are on an 802.11b (11mbps) network that share a 3mbps cable connection (though the most i've ever gotten was 2.6, late at night)

anyways, should i upgrade to 'g' or ever 'super g?' (108 mbps)

one computer would be connected to the router while the other 2 would be wireless; my budget is about $100-$125 (highly doable with newegg and frys)

Funny that you should mention that. I was just reading an article about this in an old PC World mag while riding a Ferry into Seattle today. Here's the link. Hope it helps with your decision.

but would there be any problem with range or compatibility? my current 2wire router (11mbps) is upstairs, and sometimes, it can barely send a signal downstairs (my house isnt that wide; its almost like a cube, missing 1/8) i kept the router pretty much centralized, yet the range isnt that good

also, i've had other friends come over with their laptops with their 802.11b cards, and they cant log onto the network; even with the authorization key correctly put it . . .
