I never noted down the username and password for my router when i had it set up. Never thought id need it but now i want to get in there to port forward and stuff. If i were to "reset" the router so i could enter a new username and password how easy will it be getting it connected to the internet again? I live with roommates and they'd be quite annoyed id imagine if i cut the net off for more than an hour or so (we all pay for it).

Thanks.

You'll have to do a factory reset on the router to clear the username/password, which usually entails holding down the reset button for more than 30 seconds. That's how its done on Linksys routers, anyway.

Do as carnage said, you'll have to 'hard reset' the router by holding down the reset button for 30 seconds or more.

Keep in mind you will lose all settings, which usually means you will need to go in and reconfigure your router to communicate with your modem and properly lease out IP's.
