Sooo...ive got several GB of data to transfer from one hard drive to the next...one pc to the other...and well...ive used i guess its wireless? and it went at 1.7MB/s...and well..thats a little to slow for me...so i got some firewire...wires...and i want to connect the 2 PC's together to transfer the files. In running WIndows XP home and Pro, no apples involved here. hehe...if anyone knows a site or a quick rundown on what i can do..i would be thankfull.

It's as easy as giving each firewire connection an IP address and subnet mask. Connect the firewire wire to both machines, configure Firewire connection (CompA 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0, CompB 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.0), and make sure they are in the same workgroup, restart both machine. You'll be able to see each other shares.
