Firewall problems, routing through specfic ports

Hey all,

Just started uni education, and my accomadation's firewall is very strick. It only has about 4 ports open on it, which allows only for very basic functions, like internet expolorer and Yahoo Messenger. Even auto-updates have stopped working.

I was just wondering, is it possible to get applications to route internet traffic through a specfic port, ie one i know works.

If what you are looking to do is bypass the firewall at your school, that would be breaking rule 5.

If this is a device that you own, on your home or business network, we can work further with you to assist you in opening necessary ports, otherwise, this thread will have to be shutdown. Thank you.
