I got a d-link wireless router for my laptop the other day and since then my downloads arent working properly. I think it has something to do with the firewall. Does anyone know how to disable the firewall temporarily or a way to fix my problem ?

wat is it exactly that you're downloading from/with...torrents...p2p...http...ftp...

i don't know the exact port number, but a port may have to be forwarded. is it not working at all or just extremely slow.

Can you provide us with model of your dlink router and also the hardware and firmware version. There should be a sticker on the router that will tell you.

The model is D-Link DI-524 (802.11g/2.4GHz)

Hardware version is E3
Firmware version is 5.00

I don't know much about routers but the box says that it has advanced firewall and security features. Ever since i got it torrents have been reallly slow, so i'm pretty sure it is because of this. Also today i unplugged it and used just the normal modem for a download and it worked fine. However, i dont want to do this all the time because i can't use the laptop while stuff is downloading.

Thanks in advance.
