file with extension .ram

I was going through the web when i saw an option to play a video online. When i clicked on the option, it downloaded a file and the extension name of the file was .ram. My computer demanded me to specify the program to use but i do not know which. If any body can help i will be very happy.

or better go to http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htm and download a codec that lets you play .ram files on your existing media player eliminating the need to download <shudder>real player</shudder>

Yeah realplayer is terrible and is classified in my book as mainstream corprate spyware
