Ok in past times I had had issues with that modem. Drivers do not work unless I use my old modem to install ethernet drivers and switch them out and the ethernet plug is loose and if I hit it, it could loose connectivity. Well my mom did something with my old modem and cant remember what but right now I cant get my ethernet to work with my isp ( cablevision  ) cd so I am using the usb portion but since I dont have usb drivers fully installed it runs way slow but still is better than dsl or 56k. Any Ideas?

If this is a modem that the ISP PROVIDED for you, then contact them and try to get a new modem. If this is something you bought, is it new enough that you could try to exchange it for same product, or contact the maker for an RMA?

In the meantime, you should update the USB drivers, and any firmware for the Modem.
