Well heres the whole deal. I just bought a new laptop from compaq its a Persario 2100 for web deign (dreamweaver aim ect) i then have my Gaming machine (self built, made for WoW) then i have my server (1 Terrabyte of space currently running Mandrake Linux 10.3) witch i can host files atm due to ISP issues (cannot host server, bad upload) anyways to the problem:
I have a Netgear 4port Ds104 Router, witch has four ethernet ports like this
[][][][] then a button that says Normal/Uplink.
I plug the modem directly into the first port
[/] like so, then i take a nother CAT5 cable, running to my Gaming, Server, and the laptop, i can successfully run my Server and gaming machine togather while on the internet but when i plug the laptop in, the connection wont work at all, if i take the server out, the laptop itself works, but the gaming doesn't connect, i can do the laptop alone, or the other two to gather, i figured it was a dead port/cable, so i stuck the cable that was in the server, to the laptop, and get a connection to the laptop but the gaming machine still doesn't want to connect.
any ideas?
