I have a web site and an FTP site up on my computers and they are ok, but the only problem i have is that when i type http://www.pcholic.net on the address line I see the modem set up screen. I know it is doing this because the modem is on my network and i also know that I can set up my computer to see this domain as the correct one but this does not help me to check and make sure the site works from the internet. I was wondering if there should be a way in the modem setup to bypass this. I am using port forwarding to transfer the requests to the correct computer now but i also have the option of DMZ, NAT and a bunch of other stuff if you think that there would be a better way to have it set up.

I'm guessing what you mean is that when you click on http://www.pcholic.net from a machine inside your network you see the (DSL or cable or what?) modem setup screen. Is that right? When I try that address, I get a simple web page with:

Overclocking the IC7 series Motherboard

Folding Team 13285 (ABIT)

Networking Tutorials

Case mod tutorials

on it. Is that correct for people browsing from the Internet?

If it's showing up differently for machines inside your LAN, then http://www.pcholic.net is probably resolving to a different IP address for them. (Do a traceroute and ping from a PC inside your net and have someone do one from the Internet and compare the two. They IP addresses should be the same. (Or if they aren't, you should explicitly know why they aren't - most likely because you set it up that way and understand why you did that.) That's a first place to start.

Thank you for replying.

First off it is a DSL modem with built in router. Yes that is the way the site is supposed to look so far. When i ping the site from inside or outside the network it shows the same IP addy. Something I have found out, if I go to the site through a proxy I can see it fine so i guess that my only problem is that port forwarding does not work for computers inside the network.

...EDIT.... I also have the same problem with ftp.pcholic.net site but with this one the proxy trick does not work.
