I have a DSL modem Lucent
the IP for it is 10.1.1.2 - then goes to Linux/ Shorewall on IP 10.1.1.1 eth0(10.1.1.1)
The LinuxBox has second eth1 192.168.7.1

On the modem PortForwarding I set all the request from INTERNET on all the ports to go to a server located at 192.168.7.2 (web server ports 80 & 808)

The modem has a admin page http://10.1.1.2:80 and the port 80 can not be changed.

The modem internet IP is 33.33.33.33 (let's say)
form outside my lan when I execute http://33.33.33.33 nothing happend
and when I execute http://33.33.33.33:808
it open web server 192.168.7.2 on port 808

IF i disable port forwarding on the modem
from outside my lan I type http://33.33.33.33 and
I logon to the AdminPage of the modem.

HOW? WHY? FOR WHAT?

I run over the dsl modem with my car , and then buy other which give me option to change the admin port 80?

or there is other options?

That's weird, I would expect it not to work at all the way you set this up. I thought you are suppose to port forward it to the Linux at 10.0.0.2 and let it handle the requested ports to pass it to 192.168.7.2. Are you sure there's no firewall filtering port 80 on the Linux machine? It seems to be port forwarding correctly but could be that it just doesn't know what rather to execute the web gui on the modem or pass it along when port 80 is requested.

Hi LAW, thanks for you judgement!

From Internet - goes to modem, modem (1.0.0.1) NAPT to
Linux eth0 10.0.0.2, Linux/Shorewall kick it to eth1 192.168.7.1 then
departure and arrive at 192.168.7.2 web server.

I was shortcuttin the first post.

I think the modem when receive request from Internet for port 80,
think should I handle to Linux/Shorewall or
open my AdminPage,

And in one moment I see a page "Please refresh your page, because is notin on it...."

I gave my modem dead line notice of 1 week from now -to start working,
before is electrically executed from my neighbour 3 face power line...

Please some one save the poor modem...
