DSL / Cable

Just moved into a new house, about 3 miles out of town, both DSL and Cable have told me I can't get either service where I am, unless I payed $55,000 for wiring etc. Right now I am operating off Satalite Internet, is this the best I can do? Its decent sometimes, but there seems to be a delay, and just overall isnt that great. Is this my only other option besides dial-up? What other route can I take? I've alays been on dls / cable and have little experience with other.

Yes if that's what the ISPs told you, then im afraid your only option is limited to satellite internet. You could go do a speedtest and compare it with DSL/cable speeds, here's a great website for doing that:

If you find your connection slow, you should always keep your PC free from spyware/viruses etc.
