downloading help

The box that appears when downloading used to say open/save ect. now it just downlaods to temporary folders, how do I get it to allow me to save?
the save box appears then disappears instantly.

Im using IE.

I tried going to Tools, Internet options, advanced tab, and click restore defaults, then ok., but didnt work.


I should see it but it closes instantly and OPENS the file. I assume at some point, I clicked 'dont ask me again' but dont know how to change it ??

Go into IE preferences or tools, look around in there. Sounds as though you selected the box to auto-save it to a certain destination.

Yea I agree something got changed. I would go into the IE prefs and change it all back to default settings, delete cookies, IE temp files, and IE history files. See if that works.
