i believe with netgear equipment, you can use IP address "reservation".
Basically, you type in the mac address of the adapter in the computer and set the ip address you want to keep "reserved" for it.

But.....anywho.....thats off topic.

a static internal ip...yes. but your external ip (real internet ip 68.x.x.x) will change from time to time.
