when hooked to just the router try an ipconfig /renew.

if it still gives u the default or says it cant give u an IP the router is probably bad.

it gives me the windows default again...but the thing is the router was working perfectly fine not so long ago...

I dont think it would slowly go though, i had a switch go like that one minute it was workin then it wasnt,

did it get very hot be4 this happened?
