Distance with Matrics

Hi everybody
I really think that this forum is very very usful for who is studying Networking or even having a problem he/she wants to solve it.

my question is what is the representation of distance with metrics?

I serve the Net a lot and I found lots of answers..and I am not sure which one is the best answer..so please can anyone help me.

In distance vector routing protocols, for example RIP, the hop count designates the distance.

you should prolly research routing protocols and their metrics. Major routing protocols are RIP v1 & v2, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF, CDP, BGP
