I recently purchased a D-Link DI-624 and I plugged it in and it runs great, and for some reason my computer tells me that the network connection was unplugged and then about 5 seconds later it reconnects Does anyone know how make it stop doing that???

maybe your NIC is not seated properly. also check all connections, make sure they all click when you plug them in.

does it constantly do that? If so:

1) might be a bad termination on the jack (either on the PC side, or the router side)

2) could be a bad cable run (from the router to the PC)

3) could be a bad NIC

I would start with reseating the NIC, then try re-terminating the cable (if you can). Then try a new NIC. If that doesnt work, then replace the cable that is run from the router to the PC

One of those things SHOULD fix it....good luck

THX for the suggestions, I tested the router on another computer, and it does the same thing. So that eliminates the NIC, so that just leaves the cable and the router port to test, once again THX

oh yeah...i forgot to suggest to change the port on the router....but you thought about that anyway lol
