i want to conect two computers together, one would be storage/backup while the other will be a all around desktop (main). the backup one will be running linux (mandrake) and could have win98 se if i need it, while my main computer will be running win98 se.
I was hoping to use a serial cable of printer cable (the one with the best bandwith and speed. i don't really want to use a lan due to the lack of ports.

Thanks,

i dont think that would work dude!

you prolly need to get another LAN card and just use a crossover cable or get a small hub.

Back in the day, before Ethernet ports on PCs were common, people connected two PCs together using a null modem cable to connect them via the serial ports.

i will most likely get thet if it has good speed and bandwith, i will most likely find out but post it any way if you know
