Differences between Modems and Network cards?

Um, 20 of what?

Modems are for dial-up networking and accept a 4 pin modular plug. Network cards are for high-speed networking, and accept an 8-pin modular plug.

That's what search engines, and your text books are for.

Also, try to be a little more respectful.

Modems convert DSL / Dial Up / Cable into a usable communication your computer and routers / other devices can see and communicate with on a network.

Network cards do not convert DSL / Phone line / Cable, but rather they interpret and send out communication on a network to other nodes (computers / modems / routers / etc).

Learn to be respectful. You came here for help. We have it stated right in our rules:

We are not here to do your school work for you either. We will help explain results or help you to find information to get results but we will not flat out give answers to homework or school work questions. School is for learning. Getting the answers handed to you is not going to help anyone in the end.

Which you should have read before you registered to the site since it asks if you agree to them and follow them.
